Market hours vary depending on the exchange and the instrument being traded. Below are the standard hours for some of the most popular markets:


  • Stock Indices (S&P 500, Nasdaq, Dow Jones, etc.):
  • Sunday to Friday: 6:00 PM – 5:00 PM (ET) with a 1-hour break from 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM (ET)
  • Commodities (Crude Oil, Gold, Silver, etc.):
  • Sunday to Friday: 6:00 PM – 5:00 PM (ET) with a 1-hour break from 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM (ET)
  • Currencies (Forex Futures):
