Does Taurus Offer a Trade Copier, How Do I Set It Up?

Volumetrica provides a free Trade Copier that allows traders to replicate trades across multiple accounts owned by the same user.

The tool can be used with Taurus Evaluation and Profit Accounts and is included at no additional cost.

How does the Trade Copier work?

The Trade Copier connects one primary account, known as the Parent Account, to one or more secondary accounts, known as Child Accounts.

The Parent Account is the only account that the trader operates directly. Orders placed, modified, canceled, or closed in the Parent Account are automatically replicated in the connected Child Accounts.

Traders can create multiple copier groups. For example, a trader may use one group for three accounts and another group for two additional accounts. However, each group must have a different Parent Account. The same Parent Account should not be used in multiple groups.

Copying trades from accounts owned by another trader is not allowed. All connected accounts must belong to the same user.

How to configure the Trade Copier

  • Open the platform menu and go to Trading.

  • Select Trade Copier.

  • Click Add New Group.

  • Enter a name that helps you identify the group, such as 25K, 50K, 100K, or any other descriptive name.

Select the Parent Account

  • Under Parent Account, click the green Select button.

  • Select the corresponding connection. If you are testing the copier first, you may select a SIM account. To use Taurus accounts, select Taurus.

  • The platform will display all available accounts. Select the account that will serve as the Parent Account and click Select.

The Parent Account is the only account that should be operated directly. All trades placed in this account will be replicated in the Child Accounts.

When connecting accounts of different sizes, the smallest account must always be used as the Parent Account. This helps ensure that the strategy is managed according to the risk limits of the smallest account.

For example, if you connect a 25K account and a 50K account, the 25K account should be the Parent Account. The position size can then be increased in the larger Child Account by using the Contract Multiplier.

Add the Child Accounts

  • Under Child Accounts, click Add Account.

  • Select the Taurus connection and choose the account that should receive the replicated trades.

  • Repeat this process to add the remaining Child Accounts.

The Child Accounts receive all trading activity from the Parent Account, including entries, exits, profits, losses, order modifications, and cancellations.

Set the Contract Multiplier

  • Use Contract Multiplier to adjust the number of contracts replicated in each Child Account.

For example, if a 50K Parent Account has a risk of $250 and the connected 100K Child Account should have a risk of $500, set the Contract Multiplier to 2.

With this configuration:

  • If the Parent Account gains $500, the Child Account may gain approximately $1,000.

  • If the Parent Account loses $250, the Child Account may lose approximately $500.

The multiplier only modifies the position size in the Child Account. It does not change the settings or risk configuration of the Parent Account.

The smaller account should always be the Parent Account because the copier allows the position size to be increased in a larger Child Account.

Add the trading instrument

  • Under Symbols, click Add Symbol.

  • Select the corresponding exchange, such as CME.

  • Choose the instrument that will be traded, such as MNQ, and click Select.

Only the instruments added to the group will be replicated.

Review the delay

  • Review the Copy Delay setting.

This setting gives the system time to replicate an order in the Child Accounts. For example, the delay can be set to five seconds. If the order cannot be replicated within that period, it may be canceled according to the configured settings.

The delay can be reduced if the trader does not want a significant difference between execution prices. However, a shorter delay may also give the system less time to replicate the order.

Orders may not be filled at exactly the same price in every account. Small differences in execution prices, profits, or losses are expected because each account receives a separate fill.

Save and start the group

  • Review the Parent Account, Child Accounts, instrument, delay, and Contract Multiplier.

  • Click Confirm to save the group.

  • Click Start to activate the Trade Copier.

  • A confirmation message will appear. Accept it to start the replication.

Once activated, minimize the Trade Copier window and leave it open while trading. Do not close the window while the copier is running.

How to close the Trade Copier

  • Return to the Trade Copier window.

  • Click Stop.

  • Confirm that the group is no longer active.

  • Close the window

Important points to keep in mind

  • All connected accounts must belong to the same trader.

  • Copying trades from third-party accounts is not allowed.

  • The smallest account should be selected as the Parent Account when connecting accounts of different sizes.

  • Never operate a Child Account manually while it is receiving copied trades.

  • Review the Parent Account, Child Accounts, symbols, delay, and Contract Multiplier before activating the group.

  • Execution prices and results may vary slightly between accounts.

  • Each account remains subject to its own Maximum Contract Limit, drawdown, and trading rules.

  • The system also replicates order modifications and cancellations.

  • Always stop the copier before closing its window or exiting the platform.
